Kaylei and Kaylee-The Miracle Worker
Ø Throw a tantrum at the beginning. A real tantrum. Kick your arms and legs at the beginning.
Ø The sign for her mother is different.
Ø Helen knew where things were a lot of the time. You need to make sure you can’t see things.
Ø Angle the table.
Ø Remember that Annie is trying to teach her things. You need to make sure that that is what you are doing. She starts with one spoon. Makes Helen go pick it up. Makes her spit out the food she doesn’t eat with a spoon, etc.
Ø Spell out water in her hand. Same thing with “good girl”. If you need me to teach you the sign alphabet I can.
Allison and Cherie-Spy School
Ø Make sure the “Gee whiz to do what” is super sincere.
Ø Good dovetailing of the lines.
Ø Allison make eye contact with Cherie.
Ø Diction, both of you.
Ø Make sure the revelation of the plot is really serious and really “Bourne Identity” type intimidation.
Ø Projection.
Ø Attack big at first. Don’t go half way.
Ø Nice work on the blocking and choreography.
Mason and Alyssa-The Matchmakers
Ø Make sure you enunciate “Gabe”.
Ø I think you need to dovetail some of your lines. (Right before 911 call)
Ø I’m going to die out here (crying maybe?)
Ø Memorization
Ø How can you keep yourself from laughing?
Hyrum and Bowen-
Ø Cheat out so we can see you when you’re putting on the gloves and eating the zingers.
Ø Hyrum diction.
Ø We can’t see Hyrum at all. We missed some of the funniest moments of your scene because we couldn’t see Hyrum. I think you can make the secret entrance farther over stage left so you have more acting space.
Hannah and Ashley-The Matchmakers
Ø Slow down.
Ø Good dovetailing.
Ø Find the moments where the sincerity can be funny too.
Ø Nice interaction between the two of you. Find more subtle levels.
Allie and Katie-10/2
Ø “Don’t you have a date tonight”—Can that be a purposeful change in subject? To get the attention off you?
Ø Dovetail your lines.
Ø Katie, cheat out. Can you pace less?
Ø “I care”-Make that an upbeat button on the end of your scene.
Gwen and Mikaela-Hey Taxi Man
Ø “I love you Leslie”—Crying drunk. Make that sound really serious and then go back to the laughing moments.
Ø Find moments of sincerity in your scene too. Drunk people try really hard to prove they’re sober.
Olivia and Rachele-Freaky Friday
Ø How can you keep yourself from not laughing?
Ø Don’t cover your mouth when you have lines to say.
Ø Dovetail some of your lines. Pick up your cues a bit.
Ø Good job for performing even when you feel terrible!
Michael and Emily-The Proposal
Ø Cheat out a little bit during the proposal.
Ø Dovetail some of your lines.
Ø The moment with not picking her up needs to be timed better.
Ø Experiment with physical proximity and creating that love/hate relationship with each other.
